My clients are typically women of all ages from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and sexual orientations. I love working with women who feel bogged down by the weight of perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety, depression, or the seemingly unending burden and to-do lists. I understand the impossible quest for perfection and how it steals our energy, joy, self-esteem, and peace. Perfectionism is exhausting and often leads to anxiety or depression!

Tip: Your young folks are typically comfortable with online therapy making it more convenient for parents.

I know that stress when things are not right with your kids.  I invite your young people ( 10 years +) who are open to therapy to give counselling a try. There are a few moments that are all about us and a counselling session is one of those moments.  I honor and respect your young folks and will connect with them in a real, conversational, and encouraging way. There will be no psychobabble! I believe in their generation and believe in them individually.  I understand the challenges they face, empathize, and believe their story.  Their problems are real and they deserve to be heard and believed. I would love to be part of your team in building the life that your young person desires.  And Mom… when your kids are thriving and you feel more connected with them, your stress will lower and your contentment will rise. Invest in yourself and in your young people.  Encourage mental health care before they reach adulthood.

My Philosophy

We all have something to work through.

Therapy is helpful for anyone at any point in our life. Stuff happens, things change, and we keep marching along – or sometimes crawling along. Therapy changes thoughts, goals, feelings, and how we design our lives. Self-awareness and discovery matter!

 You will never regret helping yourself.

Imperfection is inevitable, welcome, and fabulous!

There is no need to bring your perfectionism into our counselling space. Leave it where it belongs: at the door. We will work on not picking it up again when you leave!

You are not better than anyone else: but you are just as good. Women tend to compare and compete rather than support; somehow, we seem to always fall short (especially when on social media platforms)! Let’s reframe that thinking!

You are worth the time, money, and energy spent in therapy.

Therapy can bring you lasting change that transforms your life.  I personally invest in regular therapy and ongoing maintenance sessions (check-ups!) with my own personal counselor - I love my time with her and it makes a difference in my life and the lives of those I love! As a recovering perfectionist and worrier, I GET IT!

Life is about BEING who you want to be, not about your accomplishments or the accomplishments of your children. Teach your children this too! Change happens when we step outside our comfort zone. I can help you maneuver through the scariness.

Our young people benefit from counseling. It can be hard to be young in this world today. Invest in your children and young adults and give them a safe place to share their stories and to be validated and empowered. Show your young people that their emotional wellness is a priority.

Parenting is the most important job we will ever be given. So much is asked of parents but so little support is given. All parents can benefit from parent counseling and coaching.

My previous experience working in non-profits and public education gave me the privilege of working with Indigenous, First Nations, and Métis peoples.  Through them, I recognize the personal and intergenerational trauma of colonialism and the moral insult & injury it caused. I value and prioritize all cultures and traditional practices, and in so doing I commit to listening, growing, and learning from all peoples.  I offer culturally responsive counselling and coaching that respects and sees who you are and what has happened to you.
